"A person is a fool if he does not
learn something new every day."
(Lynn Jay Baldwin)

FROM THE DESK OF BOB BALDWIN

Recently, I have been approached with a concern relating to the information disclosed on this site. There were a few issues mentioned that I would like to share.

  • "The format of information on this site is difficult to follow." ...My responses was, "This work is definitely unfinished. I was going to put it in "modified register" format. But hey, maybe I'll die today or tomorrow. And, if it didn't go on-line yesterday, the compilation of the contributors will be lost for someone else to struggle to find it tomorrow."

  • "Why should I believe the information on your site?"... I replied, "As for believing me, I don't expect anyone to believe this information. All they have to do is to follow up on the sources noted. After all, it is on the Internet and credibility is always questionable."

  • "The author of this site pontificates."...I responded, "I'm not out to impress anyone. I just wish to facilitate continued efforts."

  • HOW TO USE THIS SITE

Paternal and Maternal Columns...The left column discloses surnames of ancestors from the paternal side of my family. And, the right column contains surnames of ancestors on maternal side of my family. The information for each starts with the progenitors of said surname, then followed with each generation of those who are descendants by the progenitors relating only to my lineage. Subsequent reference to siblings indicates that they are also my ancestors. Therefore, those individuals whose names are not capitalized nor in bold indicates that they are peripheral in relationship to me, and further information relating to them is not included.

This Center Column...Below you will find two lists of surnames; one with hyperlinks and the other without any links. Very few of the names are within my lineage. The vast majority are peripheral families. They are, in fact, if you wish to believe these sources, descendants of Aaron and Experience (Hart) Baldwin. So, if you are seeking knowledge relating to Aaron and Experience, use the center column. This will save people a lot of headache in determining where they fit in the whole scheme of things.

Photographs...Below, in this column, you will find hyperlinks for old family photographs. These photos are only of my deceased ancestors and close relatives. That's simple!

    ETHICS IN GENEALOGY
I provide this site as a courtesy. I use citations that relate to research that many others and I have conducted (much of it being original works). Documents such as military pension applications, wills and other vital records are public domain. But, Family Bible Records and family records are documents that are original sources that should be properly cited. Should you use any data provided, whether public or private domain, it would be ethical to cite them in your collect. So, please, give credit where credit is due. Not doing so is....WRONG! PLEASE NOTE: I have also included copyrighted published sources of which have I have cited.

As noted above, I have included a large amount of my original research as well as my past partner's, discoveries from Edith Sperry Delello's decades of research. To the best of my knowledge, all compilations are cited. Other information, which may be from questionable sources, have also been included. Who knows, the questionable data could lead to fruitful revelations.

I have taken great effort in not disclosing personal information regarding living people. Since my information involves hundreds of pages, I may have not edited out some living relatives. If you find any, please let me know; I will make corrections immediately.

I hope that you, the reader, find that my genealogical connections helpful. Should you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact me at genes@baldyone.com.
